About Jamarr

Jamarr Brown has served as a student and College Democrat advocate on the local, state, and national levels. As the former president of the South Carolina College Democrats, Jamarr has spent years in South Carolina working to engage students in the political process.

about_jamarr_alexJamarr currently serves as National Council Chair for the College Democrats of America and has reached out to college students in states that were inactive and engaged them to win in key areas during the 2008 election cycle. Working with CDA leadership and other youth organizations, young people made history in 2008.

As President of the South Carolina College Democrats, Jamarr led to form a new and solid state constitution and the state federation grew from 3 chapters to 17 chapters. He also established a key working relationship with the South Carolina Democratic Party and the Young Democrats of South Carolina.

In 2006, Jamarr was appointed to serve as Secretary for CDA’s Black Caucus. During Jamarr’s two terms as Secretary, he increased communication among the Black Caucus membership and CDA and has reached out to various chapters and state federations in establishing Black Caucuses. Jamarr has also represented the Black Caucus on the national level, working closely with the DNC Black Caucus and the Congressional Black Caucus.

Jamarr is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. He is currently a graduating Senior Political Science student at Clemson University, and will begin post-baccalaureate studies in Public Administration in this fall.
